Music in the Great Hall
has presented quality chamber music to Baltimore audiences
continuously since 1974. Conveniently located near I-695
and I-83 in Towson, our hall is ideal with seating for 225,
excellent acoustics and piano, beautiful views of the
surrounding woods, convenient, free parking and wheelchair
access to the concert space and bathroom. Thanks to our
devoted patrons, our ticket prices are among the best
values for live classical music in the Baltimore region.
Welcome to
our 36th season. Early music is back after a five
year absence, along with American piano music, a great
young cellist, a voice recital with piano solos, and Mr.
Beethoven to wrap it up! We welcome Harmonius Blacksmith to
our series, the celebrated early music group in a program
devoted to Handel. Also new to our series, Clipper
Erickson, will present a piano recital focusing on American
music and the premier of a new work. We continue our
support of young artists in presenting the current Yale
Gordon-Peabody competition winner, cellist Hans Kristian
Goldstein. Mezzo-soprano Delores Ziegler, and pianist Rita
Sloan perform art songs and piano works of Schumann and
Brahms. BSO violinist Qing Li and pianist Adam Mahonske
conclude our season with Beethoven’s Kreutzer
Sonata, and other
shorter and lighter works.
The Baltimore Sun has described Music in the Great Hall
as "one of the
area's longest running and most consistently attractive
concert series" and "simply too good
to miss."
